If the title confuses you, it’s because you didn’t go on the high school missions trip to New Orleans… and boy did you miss out…

These are the names that our students came up with for their work teams while in the Big Easy. And work they did: painting, priming, scraping, dry-walling, furniture-moving, butcher-paper-stapling, graffiti-scrubbing,
and all around whatever-the-heck-needs-to-be-done. I was so proud of the way our students jumped in and were ready to help out with any and every job no matter how difficult or tedious it was.
Was it easy? No.
Was it fun? Not exactly.
Was it relaxing? No.
Was it hot as blazes? Most definitely.
Was it a total waste of time and money? Absolutely not.
Was it worth it in the end? For sure.
Would you go back again? In a heartbeat.
See thats the thing about missions trips. They’re the most illogical excursions in the world. You shell out big bucks to travel a long ways to get your hands dirty working for free for someone you don’t know and probably won’t see again. Christians are nuts I tell ya. They make no sense at all.
Unless of course they are motivated by something other than personal gain. Maybe there is some other reason for such bizarre behavior. Could it be that these teenagers just happen to enjoy spending 26 hours on a bus? Could it be that all of them really, really wanted to improve their paint-scraping skills? Or could it be that it has something to do with Jesus?
Dude put up some videos!
