Book Recommendation: Just Don’t Fall

As the cold days of winter drag on, are you looking for a good book to read while you sit next to a crackling fire in your living room? Perhaps a funny, easy-to-read-hard-to-put-down, inspiring book?

Then might I recommend one that has only hit the bookstores this past week – “Just Don’t Fall.”

Now, this book will always be a bit special to me because the author, Josh Sundquist, is a good friend of mine. We met each other during the first week of school our freshman year of college at William & Mary and have been compadres in crime ever since. We roomed together junior year, dominated intermural soccer, went bull-tipping and almost died, counseled each other through girl problems, and somehow managed to graduate on time together.

Josh was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma (an especially dangerous form of cancer) when he was nine years old and had to have his left leg amputated at the hip.

His story did not end there.

In the past ten years, Josh has become a paralympic ski racer, a published author, and a full-time motivational speaker. He has shared his story with across the country for audiences including Fortune 500 companies, inner-city public schools, and the White House.

I met Josh when we were both 18 year old kids and he has grown into a man I respect and appreciate. His story is unique, interesting, and challening. Even though we had previously heard many of the stories in his book, my wife and I both enjoyed reading it (and each finished it in 2 days!)

This is the kind of book you want to buy, read, lone to a friend, ask for it back, find out they lent it to another friend, track it down, steal it back, and read it again. Josh is real person. His story, his struggles, his questions, his decisions, they are all real.

Enjoy!
